Bird Watching at Chitwan National Park

Chitwan National Park is a magnet for avid bird watchers who can observe numerous species of resident and migrant birds here. Bird watching is also one of the major attraction of Sauraha.

Many tourists arrive at Chitwan and go around Sauraha and Chitwan National Park with the sole intent of watching birds. The Chitwan National Park area is one of the best places in the world to observe and study various rare bird species. Apart from resident species, may migrating birds arrive at Sauraha in the winter from as far as Siberia as well as other places thousands of miles away.

It is better to use guide for bird watching as the chance to view different species of birds increases if one takes the aid of experienced guides. Separate zones have been identified in the National park for bird watching. The bird watching zone is not far then 4-5 km Good binoculars and camera are indispensable instruments during bird watching.

An early morning walk through the bush and along the Rapti river, is a must go to view many of the exotic birds, including the Giant Hornbill, Lesser Florican and Paradise Flycatcher. This apart, enjoys the movement of the migratory birds in the Bish Hajar Taal. You will be accompanied by our experienced naturalist to this wonderful birders parades.

Visitors have to pay certain charges to enter Chitwan National Park and charges for guide or the service provider or manager.

Bird Watching Full Day $35 per person excluding the Entry fee
